TalkTalk Pay Upfront offer

Hi,
I'm trying to sign up for the TalkTalk phone and broadband offer recommeneded in today MSE newsletter. Here's the blurb:

Ends Wed. £7.75/mth for line rental AND broadband. Complex, but hot. TalkTalk Essentials half price deal gives eve & weekend calls plus broadband (available to 85% of UK) at £3.25/mth for a year's contract. Pay £114 line rental upfront and sign up via uSwitch (link goes there) to get a £60 Tesco voucher (sent 60 days after connection). Factor that as cash and it's £93 for the year, an avg £7.75/mth.

Looks great, but when I follow the links and get to check out I can't see any options to pay up front. All it say is that the monthly total, inc vat, is: £17.05 - so that's £204.6 per year (according to my calculator!) and still £144.60 with the voucher value subtracted.

If someone who's taken this deal could let me know how to wangle it that'd be great... I realise I may well be missing something obvious here!

Thanks :-)

  • as far as i know you just normally sign up and when its active than log in to your talktalk account than there is an option to pay for 12 months. 12months from the day you make the payment obviously.

The option to pay a year's line rental up front ('Value Line Rental') is an ongoing offer, that part doesn't end today. It will save £51.60 per annum. I've been with TT for 18 months and just got a new deal out of them yesterday; that wasn't conditional on me paying for 12 months' rental in advance, and I shall do that in the next day or so. As 'afzaal' suggests, you could sign up and, once your account is set up, you could pay for VLR then. You won't be losing anything by waiting a day or so as the 50% discount that ends today is on the 'package fee', not the line rental. As it's uSwitch's deal you are going for to get the voucher, you could always give them a ring to clarify this - 0800 number of course!
  • Ah, I see! thanks so much guys!
  • My pleasure. :money:
  • OK, I've signed up. I've had an order confirmation email, but the site won't let me register - it says it doesn't recognise my phone number. I'm guessing this is because the order needs to be processed - do I have to wait for another email or something?
  • I guess this is just a case of waiting for the wheels to grind; you've had your confirmation so you're in! I'd give it another 24hrs as from experience I know it takes as long as that for any changes to filter through even for established accounts.
  • OK - always have trouble with the old patience virtue! :)

odd, I've just signed up to Talk Talk this evening.

It gave me the option to pay upfront. I paid using Credit card (although that took a few tries).

Got a few emails shortly afterwards. One of them was to confirm my email address, allowing me to set up my Talk talk account.

Just hope TCB tracks pretty soonish, they have reduced cashback to only £24 but I will get them to match Quidco @ £65 (Quidco offer also expires in 4 days)
