Smile has a great current account with no minimum monthly deposit, a reasonable interest rate (3.3%) and would give you a debit card.
You say you are on a gap year, which I assume from the 86 in your name to be before rather than after uni/college (sherlock eh?) If so, you might want to look at which banks have good student accounts and go for a normal account with them now, then simply get it upgraded to student status at the appropriate time.
I'm in the 4th year of a Smile student account - can't recommend them enough. Service top notch :j
As I say though, shop around. Just about every bank will give you a current account with debit card - it's just the ones paying 4 or 5% interest that want a minimum amount paid in.
