Parcel Force 48 hours - or should i say 48 days...Nightmare!

Hello All
On 15/01/07 Parcelforce 48 hours came to collect my parcel. I printed out the documents - of which the driver was supposed to stick / enclose on the parcel.
The online tracking showed NOTHING apart from the service used. I phoned up the local depot three times who claimed they would look round the depot for my parcel and ring back but they did not bother.
I have had to refund my ebayer who has left neutral feedback.
I have had enough. I dont have the time to keep on ringing the depot asking them to look for my parcel. I have filled in the forms for a claim and will post it tomorrow.
Questions
1) If my claim goes through will I get the postage refunded aswel as the value of the item?
2) As the lady at the local depot reckons the item was never scanned / no document was ever attached or the document feel off - do you think the claim centre will recommend i call the depot to continue looking for my parcel.
Thank you all - this has been a total nightmare!

As long as you're documentation is signed by the pickup driver its not just a claim on a lost item..you should get it all back. Also complain about the service to cutomer services who should investigate the situation.
Have you been down to you're local depot at all.0 -

Hi Business Student....
On the 15/01 I guess this would have just loaded onto the trailer at the depot as a standard parcel so untracked.Similar as if collected at PO.
I trust you put a return address and telephone number?
I always include a tracking number I get from an email confirmation.
I would suspect the buyer. To make it worst ,if the buyer didn't have to sign for it,he may have pulled a fast one.Remenber this could have been left hidden at the buyer's address.(They paid for P48)Buyer's will try any trick.
I hope I am not being rude in saying what's in the parcel and how much did you pay for that 48 Parcelforce delivery.
Your claim should be fine as you have a tracking number and they can't trace if a delivery was ever done.As for the postage refund, for service you paid for and which was not done-don't hold your breath. This is something I had out with Postwatch without results(but that was for recorded delivery).
Can you prove the item price.I printed a link to a site where the price of the item was higher as I knew then they wouldn't refund my postage then.
This was included with my claim. They asked for no receipt.
I guess one of your frustrations may well be the cost you paid to send it.
On a plus side there are company agents that arrange up to 30kg parcel fully insured, that can collect from an address of your choice for just £5+.Check
on Ebay under Business or parcel courier.I use Selective. They have arranged
successful collections via DHL and Parcelforce with no problems.I really do
hope that you can save some good money with this tip, brilliant if you are an ebayer.
Go easy on the Parcelforce driver.Just make sure it gets labelled and you have done your bit.Good luck.0 -
Hello Thanks all.
I have printed the ebay page out and filled out the form, also attached photos i included.
I have not been to the depot, I simply do not have time - and even if i did and they found the parcel i bet i would loose my delivery fees that i paid online.
Can i just point out that parcel force the nearest my parcel was to being deleivered was the local depo centre0 -

Aren't you supposed to stick the documents on the parcel? I always do. When you print off the documents there is usually a label for you to stick on the parcel and a sheet for the driver to sign to acknowledge collection.
Sorry if I'm misunderstanding this - but it appears to me that you let a parcel out of your sight knowing it had no delivery/return address information physically attached to it. In that case, I don't think you can blame parcelforce.0 -
Beware of the above users comment on selective parcels...48 negative feedback in the last month ! Cheap is no good if they let you down, thus letting down your customers.
I tried them, no communication, they ignore e-mails and have no collected parcel. Poor show...avoid0 -
i had one parcel go halfway round the country i arranged it via selective and eventually i had to put in a claim via selective, then the parcel was returned to me and to cut a long story short the parcelforce driver had put the wrong sticker on the box. I asked for refund and no reply and I couldnt claim via paypal as the 45 days had passed.
Although it was 3.99 i lost i guess I've saved enough in the large number of other parcels I've sent successfully otherwise to write it off.
I think bottom line is make sure you keep on top of every parcel you send and also remember that with parcelforce you only have a 30 day window to claim. Certainly next time i will wait the exact 10 days then begin dispute/chargeback if/when it happens again.ummm...0 -
All courier agents can only be as good as the carrier providing the service. Although i do make some mistakes alot of it is down to carrier. We rely on them as much as you rely on us. Ok we have forty odd negatives, but what about the positives???? Surely they count too! (more pos then neg).
Please look at other forums on here for my other notes on services.
Thanks for your comments anyhow,
regards

Just an update, I sent the forms off for compensation to Parcel Force, they then sent me a letter asking for proof of Item value and the orignal receipt.
I will let you know how I get on.0 -
ParcelForce
I sent a Sony TV to a London address on the 29/12/2006 by Parcel Force it was tracked No SN0101494 to London West LD depot at Concord Road Acton London at 04.35 on the 30/12/2006 and then disappeared.
I phoned London on the 3/01/07 to see why the parcel was not delivered and was told they could not find it. Also the person that was to receive the TV phoned London and was told they could not find the TV. I phoned the local Parcel Force office at Perth and spoke to the manager he said he would try and trace the TV, He told me that the depot at London was burgled on the 31/12/2006 he said he would look into it that was on the 4/01/07 he then sent me a claim form the next week which I fill in and sent to there claim office in Glasgow on the 10/01/2007 It is now the 02/03/07 I received a letter to say that they received the claim.
Am I entitled to the full price of the TV it was new and never out of the box Idid not pay for extra insurance.
I have been onto the London police to see if it has been reported they say they have no record of the break-in so some one at the London West Depot has stolen my £1000 Television and what have I got???? To date nothing0 -
We use Parcelforce a lot and generally the service is good, in particular collection.
But we do have an issue with the BILLING - found they charged us all last year per box and not per consignment - supposed to charge by weight if more than one box to same address in same collection. And they take 5 days just to START looking at your query!
On the upside their online booking and tracking system is very good.0
