Hello All,
Could anyone please recommend a good central heating cover for me, I am with Homeserve at the moment and not very happy with their service.
Thanks

I have central heating and boiler cover with a large firm of local plumbers. It may be worth checking Yellow Pages to find a largish local Plumbing/heating company to see what they offer in terms of cover. I have cover with a local firm (in the North West) for £12/month which covers boiler and heating system breakdowns + annual service. This is cheaper than British Gas.0

I am also a member of Homeserve. We had a broken window last night. Someone came out late last night to board up - so far so good. When ringing them up today I had mixed messages from them. The first agent said I was only covered for emergency repair (that is boarding up). I argued the case, got transferred to another agent who apologised, as I had been connected to a trainee and confirmed the window will be replaced. She took all the details and someone would ring me within two hours.
About 40 minutes later someone else rang up from the Home Emergency Department and told me I was not covered. Despite my best efforts Homeserve refused to replace the window. They offered me a small gift gesture for the confusion but would not budge.
In summary, there are so many Homeserve policies and Homeserve companies be careful to what one your signing upto.
Plus, do I have a leg to stand on being told that the window will be replaced? Is it worth a claim? Is there anyway I could get them to change their mind? Is there anyone at Homeserve I should speak too?0
