2nd hand camera bought in July 2011 is faulty

My son bought a 2nd hand camera for £250 in July 2011 and it has develoed a fault. What rights does he have bearing in mind it was bought from a 2nd hand shop??

I think you are misunderstanding the purpose of a forum...
What did the shop say when he asked them what they would do?If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

It would depend on the original age of the item and why it is faulty. If the fault is inherent and the camers age is not beyond that you'd expect such a product to last you would be entitled to a refund, repair or replacement. Within the first 6 months the retailer is responsible for disproving the fault is inherent, so take it to them to look at and offer advise.0
