  • Hey RobEssex,

In my experience it differs from person to person, which online survey sites works best for them. The main factor is your demographic background. If you don't have the background, the survey is looking for, you will get screened out before getting paid and in my experience some survey sites have just more surveys for specific backgournds. For example, my background is, US resident, full time employed, married with kids.

I posted some reviews about the sites which work for me last week. Unfortunately, the post is gone so I repost a shorter version here.

    globaltestmarket.com
GlobalTestMarket is a global company accepting members from 49 countries worldwide. It is easily the one, I had the best experience with. I started with globaltestmarket when I lived in Germany so it is a great site at least for Europe and the US. They usually pay $2 for 25 min surveys. Length and payment for single surveys can vary though. Their payment process it the only negative point as they just pay via checks and have a payout limit of $50. Checks need up to 8 weeks to get to you depending on your location.

    mysurvey.com
MySurvey is part of Lightspeed Research and my second best site. MySurvey currently doesn't accept new users but existing users can refer new ones. If you are in joining MySurvey, just PM me an email address and I get you an invitation.
I am a member with MySurvey (formerly us.lightspeed.panel) for over 4 years as well. The usually pay a little less than GlobalTestMarket ($1.50 for a 25 min survey) but you also get $0.05 for most surveys you won't qualify. In the past I also had several product testings with them where they send me stuff like shaving cream etc. These testings are better paid and you can keep the product most of the time. They pay via check, gift cards, or paypal but take a processing fee of $1.50 for payout.

    i-say.com
I-say is part of Ipsos another global company with members in 44 different countries although their focus is heavily on North America and Europe. I-say is their English speaking panel. I am a member since 2 years. Payment is comparable to MySurvey but without the $0.05 for surveys you get screened out. Payout is via check or gift cards. They do product testings as well.

    myview.com
Myview is a global company as well but I am not sure which countries are supported. I am a member for just 3 month now but already some great surveys. Their reward points system is a little confusion which isn't usually a good sign as it prevent to quickly see how much you get paid for a survey. Usually, they pay even less than MySurvey and I-say ($1 for a 20 min survey) but you also receive points if you won't qualify. Myview don't recruit themselves but if you google myview recruitment link, you should be able to find a link somewhere.

    toluna.com
Toluna is another global company with a lot of surveys and short paid polls. They pay like myview. I am a member since 3-4 years. However, it looks to me that they just spam survey invitations to everyone without their own prescreening. That means, you get a lot invitations where it is pretty clear you won't qualify but you waste time. I am about to cut them bu I know people who are quite happy with Toluna. Payment is via check and gift cards.

Hope this helps a little. Cheers,

  • Hi Rob
I also use Lightspeed panel & Crowdolgy may be worth having a look.
  • Hi Rob

Pocket-Money has given some good advice on the websites above, I would also recommend Panel opinion as they pay you money for your time and they have a low cash out amount! http://www.panelopinion.co.uk/

    Good Luck :D
 2014: £20 voucher from SurveyFriends, £10 cash payout from Panel Opinion too and working towards more from Valued Opinions currently.
2013: £35 and £50 vouchers from SurveyFriends! More than £15 made from other paid surveys sites (Yougov, Panel Opinion, Valued Opinions, Pinecone, etc.) Happy so far!
  • I find that the toluna and globaltestmarket surveys are often very time consuming for the reward that you get, also it really annoys me that they get you to waste your time answering loads of questions and then screen you out! Still, good when the rewards do come through!

I like Valued Opinions - the surveys are not normally too long and the rewards are not bad. They pay out with vouchers eg Tescos and you only have to get to a balance of £10 to be paid out which doesn't take too long. Also onepoll - the surveys only usually pay out between 10 -20p but they are so quick to do that you can just spend a couple of minutes every day and not notice the time spent, then when you get to £40 you can request payment by bacs into your bank account.

My friend won in the lottery just before Christmas, so you do stand a good chance of winning, but I tend to stick with the voucher auctions because you are pretty much guaranteed to win.

Once you build up a fair amount of points, regularly check the site for a day when someone hasn't bid that much. Then wait for the last 10-30 mins of the auction and outbid them! This has worked every time for me and I haven't had to use up too many points!!! http://www.surveyfriends.co.uk/index.php?Part=auctions

Thanks for the tip! It looks like the auctions are only available for social points - but the only way I can see of getting these is by recommending people. Is this right? Mind you I've not had a survey through yet...

I joined Valued Opinions about a week ago and I'm already up to £8.50 and can take my voucher at £10!

You had a payout from them?

Just really surprised as I had my first survey from them today... It was one question long and I got 1300 points... I have a feeling it was a screener question but got the points anyway!
