Hi folks,
Am thinking of switching gas / elec suppliers and was just wondering which companies back load the discounts i.e. give you the discount as one big amount at the end of the year, rather than pro-rating the discount on your monthly bills?
I'm particularly asking in regard to Scottish Power Online Fixed Price Energy April 2013...
The T&C's seem to state it is a pro-rated discount rather than annual:
**The Online Energy Service discount is only available to customers with up to three meters & three registers (ScottishPower and Manweb supply areas), or with either a single or two rate meter (all other supply areas). Annual discounts are £5.00 (excl. VAT), £5.25 (incl. VAT), for gas and £10.00 (excl. VAT), £10.50 (incl. VAT), for electricity. The annual discount is shown on your bill as a daily amount of 1.369p (excl. VAT), 1.437p (incl. VAT) for gas and 2.740p (excl. VAT), 2.877p (incl. VAT) for electricity
***The Gas & Electricity Offer annual discount for dual fuel customers who pay monthly by Direct Debit is £5 (excl. VAT), £5.25 (incl.VAT) for gas and £11 (excl. VAT), £11.55 (incl. VAT) for electricity. These discounts are shown on your bill as daily amounts of 1.369p (excl. VAT), 1.437p (incl. VAT) for gas and 3.013p (excl. VAT), 3.164p (incl. VAT) for electricity. All other customers who qualify for the Gas & Electricity Offer discount will receive annual discounts of £5 (excl. VAT), £5.25 (incl.VAT) for gas and £5 (excl. VAT), £5.25 (incl. VAT) for electricity. These discounts are shown on your bill as daily amounts of 1.369p (excl. VAT), 1.437p (incl. VAT) for gas and 1.369p (excl. VAT), 1.437p (incl. VAT) for electricity.
