Can anyone offer any advice on the Hozelock Maxi Auto Watering Kit 20. I'd like to buy one for my 6x6 greenhouse.

I've seen it as garden4less.co.uk

has anyone used them before? It seems cheap with free postage too.

Thanks!

  • It doesn't mention a timer, that was the expensive bit of my micro-irrigation system.

No, it doesn't have one with it. They're between £28 and £45.

This one is the same but as a timer. It's £50.

Is your system in a greenhouse? Is it worth the money?
  • i have ...well my hubby has done a home made watering system.... for me..

which i drip fed my tomato plants with last year....

i got free buckets from asda.... the black ones that they have the cut flowers in.... if you ask nicely they give them away (depending on the store ) also great for large flower pots...

he then drilled a little hole on the side at the bottom....

then we had air line tubing that they use for fish tanks...and he put this into the whole and sealed with mastic..

also to do with fish keeping you can buy flow values to ajust the flow of the water to a drip.... these are only pennies each.....and you buy the air tubing by the mtre

hope this makes sense....... so anyone that is into fish keeping... could help you set this up.. but they are really easy....

i will also be doing some more for my outside plants.....

with this way of watering you can also add your feed...to the water....

  • Hiya

Yes I had a hozelock 20 kit. At the time it did the job required and seemed ok on price.

Now I know a little bit more etc (joys of just finishing erecting the new polytunnel) I can see that I was also paying for the hozelock name.

Also with the hozelock 20 you cannot really add to it at all. I have just finished paying for some drip line etc and soaker hose and timers so that we can start to water the veggies etc. Also with this type of system I can add to it as my veggie growing prowess occurs....she lives in hope!

I found this web site very helpful...... Irrigation Uk, just search for them on line - they advised me on size of drip line and timers etc.

    Hope this helps
