Football and a Beach destinations?

Can anybody recommend a holiday destination that has a beach, sunny weather and hopefully lots of football?

I'm thinking Barcelona and Monaco but are there any others I should be checking out?

There are 14 of us going in total (including 6 children) so hoping for somewhere where there is lots to do and see.

I'd very much recommend Barcelona! (As I'm sure lots of other people will)

Great place with lots of things to see and do for all ages.... search this forum as there's been lots of previous posts about the place.

And as required, there's a beach, and I should say the Nou Camp stadium is amazing. For tickets, I'd recommend buying directly from Barcelona FC's website. A couple of years ago I got tickets for 19 euros each I think.... bargain!

    Hope that helps

La Coruna perhaps, direct flights from Heathrow on BA/Iberia.

Perhaps a search for a Spanish/Portugese fixture list would give more places and dates.

  • Monaco doesn't have a beach. Nice (20min by train & and the nearest airport) has a beach but its mostly shingle. Cannes & Antibes are the closest to Monaco but they're very expensive. Nice is too but not as expensive as the other three. Was out there last weekend and was paying between £3.50 & £5 for a bottle of beer.

Personally, I thought Barcelona was a dump.

Valencia? One of the top teams and the city's hosting the Americas Cup in June so millions have been spent on regenerating the formerly run-down port... The Louis Vuitton Cup is ongoing from April though so hotel rooms can be hard to come by.

Barcelona's a great city and it's fairly easy to get tickets for games — unless it's the likes of Real Madrid.
