meter box catch broken

Ive read my electric meter today and the catch has gone on the meter box outside. does anyone know who id contact to get it fixed? thanks

    My gas one is broken and apparently its my responsibility.

    Tape it shut for now then :-) before you need a new door.

    Im pretty sure you can take off the catch bit on the inside and just replace it with a bit or thin wood / metal
    If it doesnt pay rent sell it.

    Thank you for that link I thought I might have to buy a new box as my gas meter box outside my house the catch is broken .I have just ordered a new catch and all told including P&P it comes to £2.70 What a brilliant site this is for saving me some moolah:j :j :j :j :j :j :j
  • What was involved in fitting this latch? I see it has some kind of metal ring, does it need a special tool to fasten in place?

    I gave a call to my gas supplier and it was replaced free of charge within a few days!
    It was Atlantic by the way.

    As far as I can see from mine -

    Poke the barrel through the hole in the door from the outside.

    Screw the metal nut up the barrel until it's tight.

    Screw, or push on, the latch/cam onto the barrel.
    A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.
