Experian Credit Expert users - missing a trick?

Hi all
I currently have a NatWest Select Silver account, it costs me £8 a month and comes with CPP identity theft assistance, one of the features of which is monitoring of (i.e. alerts for new searches, new accounts etc) and unlimited access to my Experian credit report.
As far as I understand it, this is exactly what you get with Credit Expert but that costs 15 quid a month. The only difference is that all the pages I view are CPP branded but the layout and information I see is exactly what I would get with Credit Expert.
Also with the Select Silver account you get mobile phone insurance (including iPhone), European holiday insurance, 3 LoveFilm rentals a month and 5 hmv digital tracks a month.
Surely anyone who is paying £15 a month for Credit Expert and is able to obtain (i.e. credit scores OK) a Select Silver account is missing a trick? Even if you don't use any of the other features you're still £7 up. Or am I missing something?!
Regards

Yes, but if your credit report is your main concern then it's even cheaper to just buy a £2 statutory credit report every so often. You won't get the change alerts but, frankly, identity fraud isn't so easy and/or commonplace that the average person needs it.
Combined with the other features, the Select Silver account may very well be worth it - especially if you get a joint account with someone and pay £4/month each. (I think what threw it for me last time I checked was the maximum length of a trip on the travel insurance.)0 -
Yes tagq2, I quite agree about the statutory report. This is exactly what I used to do, got one every 2-3 months.
I was specifically referring to those already shelling out the 15 notes a month for Credit Expert.
What got me interested in the account in the first place was the DVD rental as I was already paying Tesco (re-branded LoveFilm) around £6 a month. Also I was paying £5 a month for a Barclays Current Account Plus for the mobile phone insurance (which they bumped up to £6.50 a month just before I left) - so for me it was a no-brainer.
I actually think if you use all the benefits, as I do, it's unbeatable value. I can't see it staying £8 for long though.

I got the silver account back in August and for the same reasons you got it Underground i was already paying for lovefilm so 2 pounds for the additional services, very good value IMO. I think the price may go up on the anniversary when natwest introduced the silver account which is june.0

I pay £6.99 per month for credit expert - Why are people paying £15.00?0

The relaunched version of CreditExpert includes unlimited Experian Credit Scores, which aren't included in the older subscription packages priced at around £7 or £8.

so why can you offer the natwest customer it for so much less....... no better than payday loan companys experian isDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I pay nothing for Credit Expert, I get it free with my Capital One credit card. Don't know if Cap One still do the offer but had my card for a few years.0

The CRAs have carved this scummy little niche out for themselves, it's a good little revenue stream for selling stuff that would otherwise be worthless to anyone outside financial institutions.
They also add rubbish like Credit Expert on so they can sell peoples details onto bottom feeders as normally it's the financially desperate who turn to these "services""We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0
