I've tried to record the show I want using all of these packages mentioned in this forum but I've not managed to get the URL working.

Can anybody tell me the URL I need to record from this web page:

If we're talking about BBC talky stations as opposed to music ones, have a look at the podcasts, many many shows are available legitimately as MP3's to download/subscribe to

I wanted to take a recording of part of a BBC iPlayer session to mp3 format.

Simple way I found to do so, recording what is playing through the sound card, is freeware from

mp3mymp3.com

It's not a straightforward URL for that stream.:cool:

With Linux, Qradio can be recorded like this:-

rtmpdump -r "rtmp://wowza04.sharp-stream.com/qaac/qaac" -v | cvlc - --sout "#std{access=file,mux=avcodec,dst=$(date +"%Y-%m-%d-%Hh%Mm")-Qradio.m4a}"

Needs RTMPDump and VLC.


With Windows, a similar command could be used in a bat script.:cool:
