Nationwide contents insurance claim

I have had Nationwides buildings/contents insurance in force for about 5 years and have never made a claim. I came home on friday evening to find that I had been burgled. The culprit gained entry by breaking the tiny single pane of glass and reaching in to unlock the door. I called the police immediately. What was stolen was my entire camera kit, body, lenses, bag, accessories, small amount of money, small (worthless but a family link)gold ring and a laptop. Some of the items were new and some second hand but in mint condition and boxed. As of tonight , I am still yet to make a claim as although my paperwork from the Nationwide says that I can make the claim by phone, they have handed the claim over to a company called " Cunningham Lyndsey". I have called them as they didn't bother to call me back. All I got was a rather dour an uninterested Scottish lady who immediately started on about proof of ownership and loss adjusters. I don't intend to claim for the damage to the door as I have fixed it myself and as I don't know how much money was taken I won't claim that either. That just leaves the camera gear and the laptop. Does anyone have any idea what hoops I will be expected to jump through? Also what are they likely to pay out? New or second hand, worn out E-bay prices. Like I say, all my gear was in mint condition. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.
