job centre mistake?

A birmingham centre have paid money into an incorrect acc!!

Have started a new job in Brum. Applied for money from the adf. So told would get the payment into my normal account( which I've had no.issue with)

I get a letter today saying the Funds have paid to an account ive not held for 3 years which was overdrawn and closed.

So what should I do next apart from point out their school boy error?

    The adf ?

There's not a lot you can do now apart from as you say point out their ridiculous blunder and apply for a crisis loan. However there's a one in a million chance you might be lucky and get them to replace it immediately but it's unlikely this would be done in a hurry. Sorry.

The adf is the advisor discentionary fund to pay for things for a new job like petrol. Clothes.

So just a case of kicking up a stink?

    It's about £140 in total!!

It's such a school boy error. Why they still gave those old details is beyond me

They make these payments via the LPS system (which has to be manually entered) and doesn't use the normal JSAPS for these types payments.

The LPS system holds things like historical crisis loans payment and adf awards for the individual, etc and when you call up a customers details its possible to use one of the previous awards as a template.

Which is a bad idea for obvious reasons, mostly occurs when staff are very busy.

Anyway as the funds can't reach the account it should be held in a holding account and returned to DWP, request the funds be paid into the correct account..

Yes which goes against what the advisir said( who said normal jsaps payment info).

When she filled the adf form she should have asked me again for the bank details on the form.

Killmark can they get my bank details direct from jsaps?

That means she planned to copy them direct from the jsaps screen and yes they can see the bank details eg sort code, account number and name.

Anyway its actually 2 peoples mistake as the advisor can add the details to LPS but can't approve themselves.

They should check the paperwork against LPS when authorising.

Sounds like a few people messed up. Its not that complicated to fix just requires speaking to the right person. I'ld ask to be put through to their CSOM.
