We marketed my parents' place about mid-November, got an offer approx a week later, say last week of Nov. We didn't expect things to rush through due to the Christmas slowdown, but were aiming for exchange on 15th Jan, although not surprised when this got delayed.
Exchanged contracts last Friday 26th Jan and completed on last Monday 29th.
Thank goodness everything went smoothly and the surveys did not throw up any obstacles.
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

We finally exchanged today: woohoo!!:j
Our timelines were
Offer made: Nov 7th
Offer accepted: Nov 10th
Exchanged contracts: today!!!
Completion date: March 2nd
(Our completion is so far away as the seller has lived there for 40 years and it will take that long to clear out all her stuff!)
For our last move 5 yrs ago we were in a chain of 5 transactions, it took 3 months start to finish, this one will have been 4 months with no chain at all?!0 -

Offer made Mid August (at asking price), accepted same week.
Exchanged end of September and moved in on 20th October.
It could have been done alot quicker (maybe 4 weeks) except that we were in rented accomodation and so not rushing to move in.0 -
Offers made and accepted 13th Oct on the house we were selling and the house we were buying and we exchanged and completed on 1st December! It was all very stressful and I can't imagine how bad it would have been had it took longer to complete :eek:0

Offer made 5th Dec and we complete next Wed (7th Feb). What with two weeks out for Xmas too, I think it went quite quickly (and in a chain of about 5)0
