If you did get infected, hospital bills would be the last thing on your mind. Basically, you would need to get somewhere able to administer treatment (which is unpleasant) within a limited amount of time... otherwise you would die, and your death would be about as painful as anything that a human being can possibly experience.0 -
get the injections.... nothing may happen but then again if you don't - something may happen...
When i was in the Philippines in November I watched a documentary about rabies... they said that it is spreading as the drugs they are giving to the farm animals are killing the vultures (when they eat dead farm animals) and now dogs are replacing them...
It's better to be safe than sorry (BTW I have and do travel to india without the injection but i am getting the injection for my trip in March).0 -
If the 27th you mention is December then by now you are too late for the standard vaccination schedule of 0, 7 and 28 days (the last day can be 21 if the vaccine is Rabipur but it's still too late). There is mention of an unlicensed rapid immunisation programme but it's not clear how to obtain this. http://www.patient.co.uk/doctor/Rabies-Vaccination.htm0

Of course it would be the last thing on your mind. But you know it would be the first thing on your mind if you recovered and were faced with a massive bill for your treatment as your insurance was void due to not having the correct shots."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0 -
All depends on your level of risk averseness tbh. If you want 100% reassureness (or to whatever % possible considering it doesn't exactly make you immune) then I would get the jab.
Personally I travelled around S.E Asia & got chased by quite a few dogs. Didn't have the jab and didn't get bitten either.0
