Beware of Foot Asylum

Went to take a pair of shoes back today to the Foot Asylum in Stoke as the thread had come undone. Got told very abruptly by some assistant that all she was able to do was refund on to a gift card - never asked why I was returning the shoes. I asked for a receipt to be told that 'a receipt is our property, not yours'...she became very argumentative....I reminded her, all I was asking for was a receipt as I had paid for the original shoes on a credit card...she kept refusing.

When I came home, I telephone the shop manager who said she would speak to the member of staff involved and get back to me - 5 hours later and I am still waiting for her to call me back.

I am thinking of going to Trading Standards tomorrow as the goods were faulty so I should be entitled to a full refund shouldn't I, not a credit note? Any advice folks please? Thank you x

    when did you buy them

what have they been used for and what condition are they in (eg general usage or running a marathon, climbing a mountain, gorge walking etc)

why did you not ask for the manager in store ?

Thanks for your reply. I did ask for the manager but she was unavailable due to interviewing candidates to work in the shop.

The shoes had not been used whatsoever - they were only purchased a few days prior to being returned.

I noticed you posted this last year - did you ever get a response from the manager?
