Ipod & Windows XP?

My son is looking to buy an IPOD (or similar), but only has Windows XP without Serivce pack 2, does that mean he is unable to buy/use the Apple IPOD Nano? I presume this one is suitable for Windows minus the Service pack 2?

Why doesn't he upgrade to service pack 2? He's leaving his pc vulnerable if he doesn't.

but i think that it has a £6 postage charge and it take 4-6 weeks for delivery

Hmm, so it does! It was free a while ago, but I think some people abuses it and ordered thousands of copies. Ahwell, the download isn't too bad on broadband.
