Moving to new house - advice on gas and electricity supplier

Hi
We move into our new home tomorrow and im keen to switch the supplier from EON (which the existing supplier is) to SSE which is who i used to be with (or SSE Atlantic even) and were always pretty good.
Ive done a bit of investigation and cant decide whether to go with the standard SSE Atlantic duel fuel energy or the SSE fixed until 2014 with 2% discount off energy rates.
the SSE Atlantic has £50 cashback through quidco, the SSE fixed £46.50 (obviously this is incidental when looking over the longer term).
Are fixed rates still a good option? Any advice on best product to get?
We have gas and electric and its a 4 bed detached modern house with insulation and double glazed windows. Pretty energy efficient.

You'll need to register with the existing supplier before you can switch away. Take meter readings and do that upon arrival.
Use a comp site with your estimated annual kWh figures to find the cheapest tariff.
Whether' fixed' is good option purely depends on what the fixed rate is-the really cheap fixes were canned a couple of months back now.
Factor in the cashbacks, don't be swayed just by that alone-what matters is the annual total. No free lunch, and no free laptop
