how stupid. why would they be charged with fraud, if every person in every job who made a mistake was charged with fraud the courts would be full forevermore
If this was the other way around and a claimant put something on a form that wasn't true or didn't bother to update their circumstances and as a result got more money than the DWP thought they were entitled to then that person might get in trouble so I don't see why it's shouldn't be the case for jobcentre employees when their actions can cause more damage.0 -
After assuring my partner that his details were correctly given to HM Rev and Customs, it turns out they weren't and now we own £4000, so yeah I wouldn't trust anything they say, none of them seem to know what they are doing or even how the benefits system works.0

you cannot say it is a deliberate act to not do their jobs properly, you have no idea what that particular worker was told, or what their work load was like as to whether they had time that day to read what needed to be read. do you have time to read every single article where you work? i know i dont. human error is just that, human error not deliberate or fraudAn error is not usually acting in the opposite way to the legislation and situation at the time.... Its not a slip of the pen, its not a spelling mistake, its not a complex thing, its a DWP decision maker, looking at the facts and acting in completely the wrong manner.
They are legally bound to investigate all the evidence, and to take into consideration all relevent evidence.
They obviously failed in their legal duty to check if they were required to sign on, then they failed to check their work, before passing on the message to the claimaint.
Wether that happened through lazyness, or whatever, its still a deliberate act to not do their job properly, or to not inform someone of their concerns that they were incapable of doing their job properly.Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the most live the longest.
