Game & reward card

I hope I am in the right the place for this query!

I was in the shop Game yesterday buying xmas presents and at the time thought nothing of the shop assistant putting my goods through in 2 seperate transactions. I was buying a game console bundle deal and a few other bits, the man said it had to be done that way (bundle deal seperate) and I never questioned it, anyway he said he would give me a reward card so anything I bought would earn me points which would be redeemable against future purchases in the shop. As an example my 1st transaction earned 1600 points which are worth £4.

When I got home I looked reciept to see how many points I had earned and it turns out the reward card I was given instore was used on the 1st transaction and a different card had been used on the 2nd transaction and 10000 points of a difference between the two transactions!

Am I right in thinking that the sales assistant has used his or someone elses card to get the rewards that I should of had? It's not the amount that is bothering me but over a day or however long this person will be collecting points which turn into money off future purchases which in my book equates to stealing!

Sounds wrong to me. I would go into the store and show them your card and your receipt and see what they say. They should just put the points your earned onto your card for you.

That sounds weird, yes it looks like the SA has used his own card to get the points which you should have got.

I had the same problem years ago. Asked in store if i had a card, i said i did but I had misplaced it. He said no problem, will look up details on system. Gave him my address, name etc. He gave me receipt and told me in future until i found the card i could hand over the receipt and they could scan the barcode to get my card number. Did this for nearly a year, it only came to light it was someone elses card when i preordered a game for my dad (black ops) and it had a guys name on the bottom of the receipt.

Called customer services and they said they could only amend the credits for the ones i had receipts for - given most of them were gifts......i didnt have the receipts for them any longer. Never got the credits for the ones i did have receipts for either even after chasing it for several months. They wouldnt even investigate if the card belonged to an employee or ex-employee.

In the end i gave up and voted with my feet. Shame, I used to spend around £1000 a year in that store. Funny thing is that GAME are ridiculously overpriced - even online.
