Thought i'd do Lloyds and the rainforests a favour by viewing my statements online and cancelling paper ones.
unfortunatley i needed some statements urgently, first of all i forgot my internet banking ID, called them up and he refused to issue me with a new one cos i forgot i once set up a standing order to myself when i first opened the account.
so i go to the bank, i get my password reset and change my address details, then she prints the statements off but instead of giving me them then and there she insists on sending them in the post! i wasn't best pleased with this so argued my case, i'd come in, shown my ID, changed my addresss details but she wasn't prepared to give me my bank statements. her words were something like
'if i was to give you these and you walked out of the shop and someone stole them from your hand and used them frauduently, it could be deemed our fault'
So, i say, u feel it is safer to give them to the post man, who takes them to the sorting office, who gives them to another post man, who gives them to my university residence, which is then put in post box in a corridor that i share with other people.
she thinks YES this is safer. !!!!!!. well lloyds, thanks for the Ipod, i promise to abuse your overdraft facility for the next 3 years then transfer everything to HSBC (who were more than happy to print out bank statments going back years for FREE)
    i'm not bitter.
What's it going to be, eh?
