Carers allowance/DLA query

Hi all...
Would just like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year! (i know its early but i dont come on here too often now!)
anyway....after a recent review of his DLA, my partner has been awarded middle rate care again for a further 2 years. His award starts again in January. Do i need to inform Carers allowance or do DLA pass this info onto them automatically?
