Just a note to advise the possible worth of completing a SAR if having problems with WTC.
Without going into too much boring detail I have had problems since 2009 when a computer error resulted in no payments for nearly six months and was only resolved when I got my MP involved.
I recently received an over payment notice for approx £1000 and promptly sent in a dispute asking how this had happened as I had always notified them of any change of circumstance as soon as possible.
Their reply was that I lost my job on 26/03/09 but did not advise them until 05/05/2009 after going through the paperwork they have sent me under the SAR their own notes show I notified them on 30/3/09 and 21/04/09 well within the required time. The second issue was the fact that I started a new job on 16/11/2009 and did not notify them of an increased income until 01/06/2010 again their notes show I notified them on 17/11/2009. I am now awaiting their reply to my response to their letter. A subject Access Request can be done online and is free and in my case as shown that the HMRC have fobbed me off with an incorrect response to my dispute whilst reclaiming an alleged over payment which I shouldn't have to repay

Have you made and SAR for a copy of the calls you made on those dates. They can be helpful too when disputing as you can hear what information you actually provided during the phonecall. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I have they just haven't arrived yet. With regards to starting a new job in 16th November I even have a written response from them thanking me for advising a change of circumstances yet they appear to have completely ignored this when replying to my dispute. Now waiting for a response to my written letter pointing them to the correct information that they already have.0
