The only thing with Northern Nights is that they sell their stuff as sets, but I have a king size mattress and a super king size duvet, so the fitted sheet is always way too big."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -

If it were just me, my bedding would probably last a fortnight, but my sweaty husband necessitates a weekly change of bedding."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -

I do mine about once a quarter, if that!
I must have read this wrong or it's a typo!!!!! You only change your bed once every 3 months??????0 -
The bedding walks to the washing machine on it's own I would think."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

!
This is my first year with a tumble dryer and I change sheets weekly. It used to be twice weekly, but OSers convinced me to try weekly and the world hasn' ended.
I wash when the weather is appropriate and have more than two ''sets'' for the bed so I can wash two weeks linen in one day and line dry. I'm very lucky to have a good long washing line, and if needed space undercover outside to put a hanging rail in.
re sheets, I echo The White company sales, tk max (check thread counts, I have go soe excellent stuff there but there is also lots of less good stuff). Also, I usually check out linen at any designer outlet villages when we go, because savings on it can really add up. John Lewish stuff check the labels: a lot is a lowish thread count and polycotton.
I would say good linen lasts a LOT longer than less good stuff, and so is better value for money if well cared for. Plain white stuff, as well as being beautiful, can be mixed and matched without spoiling the ''look'' of a set, if its the same/similat thread count, and so if one part of what you have used as a set gets damaged/stained etc, you can replace without sacrificing ''look'' if that is important to you.
IKEA stuff I bought as a student has long been resigned to the bin n the dog's bedding, where as I have soe stuff of my great, great grandmothers in linen and cotton that gets used: so quality really does last!0 -
i swear by laura ashley, and i always buy 100% cotton, i think this is where a lot of people go wrong, the poly cotton mixes are not only poor quality but also wear very thin, very quickly
ive had one laura ashley set for over 12 years, another for about 6 years and another for about 3 years, all looking good0 -

Yeah, probably.
There's only me in it, I don't really get dirty enough to necessitate doing it any more frequently!
Also, I'm lazy and I have nowhere to dry bedding for two days every week, my little flat would be taken over!
My mum only did every month to six weeks when we were kids and nobody died or contracted flesh eating fungal infections.

I got these
http://www.dreams.co.uk/egyptian-cotton-duvet-cover-white/
2 superkings, 2 fitted sheets & 4 pillow cases £240.00, but still as good as the day & bought them 2 years ago & LOADS of wear left in them.0 -
I bought two sets of Kingsized duvet cover,4 pillow cases and bottom sheet in the half price sale in Debenhams 11 years ago for a £100 a set. They get turn and turn about and are as soft and looking as good as the day they were bought. Not a patch of wear to be seen
300 thread count egyptian cotton - cant be beat for wear and cost0 -
John Lewis usually sell off end of lines twice a year and buy in specials for their sales so you could wait until Xmas etc. Marks and Spencer also have decent stuff and you know that either of these will sort it out if you have a problem down the line.0
