in Credit cards
I currently have the following cards;
Barclaycard £610 limit £540 balance
Capital One £200 limit £144 balance
My Barclaycard limit was £2000 but they just reduced it to what it is now after I cleared of a huge chunk of the balance. I'm now looking to get another card to allow me to ditch my Barclaycard.
Over the past year I've applied for cards with Mint, RBS and Amex and all have been declined, I'm guessing because of the 2 defaults on my account from over 3 years ago. My credit since has been fine, never missed pyments, went over limits, etc.
I earn £26000 per year and aswell as the above cards have a mortgage and a Next store card (who incidentally have been steadily increasing my limit).
Which company is a bit more lenient and likely to give me a card with a decent rate?

2 defaults won't look good when applying for credit. Have you tried your bank?0

If you made applications over a short length of time then that wont have looked good and probably caused you to get turned down.
Also Mint is part of RBS so getting turned down from one will normally mean you will get turned down from all other RBS brands within (i believe) a six month period.0 -
If your own bank won't give you a card then i wouldn't hold out much hope on getting one from anywher else. You earn a reasonable wage and your debt isn't that much.....i'd suggest a few cheap months and concentrate on getting them debts cleared0

Yeah, think I'll concentrate on clearing my credit cards and Next card.0
