MFI yet another sale

Hi all, I' hope I've found the right place to post this, if not I'm sure I'll get moved to the right place!
I've fallen foul of something that I can sort of understand from their point of view but still is annoying and I'm wondering where I stand doing something about it.
Yesterday was the last day of MFI's big VAT-free sale. We knew this cos the sales guy that specced out our new bedroom told us. We thought 'great, we've got a good deal here'. At 7:30 last night, we placed an order and paid a deposit. As it was the last day of the sale, they were anxious for our business and let us haggle over price. We are rubbish at that and let them off lightly with a small discount.
First thing this morning, the new even better sale starts. 20% off, improved extras for spending loads etc. etc. (no wonder the discount we negotiated was accepted so easily).
I'm sat at work fuming about this and I'm not with my paperwork to see whether it mentions a cooling off period. I've not yet done the sums yet to see how much out of pocket we are. The size of the deposit we paid (paid with credit card) makes walking away or cancelling and re-booking not an option if that means losing the deposit.
Part of me thinks 'you were willing to pay what you've agreed last night so ignore the revised deals on offer today' but another part of me is thinking '14 hours between you ordering and them moving the goalposts'.
In my position, what would you do?
Cheers
Chris

1/ check if there is a cooling off period.
2/ if there is, phone the store, explain the situation, including any cooling off period.
3/ They may well do a deal. If they dont and there is a cooling off period: cancel. If there isn't a cooling off period: enjoy the kitchen at a price you though was fair 24 hours ago.
At no point here should you start screaming and shouting that you have been "roobed" whatever you might feel. It gets you nowhere as effectively you are asking for a favour.0 -
We did this with an order placed online – a few weeks later the item in the new sale was cheaper than what we paid.
As we were still waiting for delivery we phoned to cancel and re-order – they just amended the price and we kept the delivery date.
So if it’s a decent store I’d expect they’ll just refund the difference – you can try your luck and say you want the same discount applied to the new price as they gave you on the old price.
If the store play silly b**gg*rs you’ll probally get better service from the head office.0 -
We had this too with DFS we just phoned and they were happy to change our paperwork to the new sale price.
Good Luck0 -
I think there is somewhere in the contract that states you lose 10% but from the way they run I think you could just ring them up and get the extra money off your final bill, but like illuminate said, just speak nicely to them, I cannot see any reason they would not do it.0

You should be able to cancel your order without losing money.
Last year I ordered a sofa from MFI online and paid in full with my credit card. 2 weeks later I changed my mind (the sofa hadn't been delivered yet) and canceled the order no problem. They refunded the full amount no problem.
I am sure you can do the same. And if you can, next time order through Quidco.com to get even more money off :beer:0 -

First things first Chris, don't fume, get back to MFI and see if the new sale would give you a better deal. If it would be a better deal, see if they can do a refund/resale at the better deal. If they can't do this, you do have a 7 day cooling off period.
As I say, don't fume about it without knowing the answers, just pop down and be polite and calm and keep pushing to get what you want but also remember to be realistic.
Good luck0
