Childcare course which college is better ...!

Options
Hi,

I hope I’m posting this in the right place

I want to go ahead in my life with childcare field i am already doing volunteer work in a children center. I have look at many collages but wouldnt decide as most of the collages are scamming. Then i went to girectgov.uk site and find few collages there.

Now i want you guys to help me decide between NEC(National extension collage) or MNTtraining. can you please share your experience with me. i am thinking to do DIPLOMA IN CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WORKFORCE.

NEC told me £1700 fee for it, and MNT will be around £1100. Your help will be highly appreciated

Thank you for any advice you might have.

  • Is there nothing available through your local college? I would not touch either of your two options.

A bit of constructive advice - if you do wish to work with children, please work on improving your own spelling and grammar. You cannot pass on such skills if you do not have them yourself.

How do you intend to work if you cannot leave home? Have you looked into your childcare options? Any valid childcare training will require practical experience.

Does your local college have a creche that you could use?
My mother used to own a nursery school and all her staff had childcare qualifications through the local college. And I'm pretty sure it didn't cost them the amounts you are talking about.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Neither of those courses will assist you in progressing in a childcare career.

any distance learning course will not progress a career in childcare, where you need practical placements.

Talk to local colleges and unis about creche facilities.
    Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.

Why not spend those ten months working on other relevant skills and gaining experience?

i already have placement in children centre where i am working for 10hrs a week, and NEC requires you a work placement before you start this course.
