Expensive electricity for 2 bed flat?

they were just approximations. i went thru my electrical usage once with powergen, they concluded my 480w computer was using approx 35% of my power usage being on 24/70

well ive a two bed property the gas ive used is 250 in 3month, seems expensive to me to..20p savers club =£5.80 joined 8.03.060

Well 885 units per quarter works out at about 10 units per day. If your computer was using 35% of 10 units in 24 hours, it would be using 3.5 kWh in 24 hours, which is 145 W.browolf wrote:they were just approximations. i went thru my electrical usage once with powergen, they concluded my 480w computer was using approx 35% of my power usage being on 24/70 -

Exactly right.
Although Browolf can reduce this by using the power management facilities - for the time he is not sitting at PC.Quote 1 - computers 2hrs a day each ~ 250 kwh / quarter
Quote 2 - So a PC on for 2 hours a day would use approx 30kWh per quarter(at 160 watts)
Quote 3 they were just approximations
Mmm - not my definition of approximate!!0 -
ah right. prob a bit higher cos i have 3 hard drives and an x850xt which even idle must use more that your average onboard or budget card.Cardew wrote:Although Browolf can reduce this by using the power management facilities - for the time he is not sitting at PC.

if the gas meter readings don't match, it might be worth checking if you've had a new meter installed recently. we had a new one before Christmas and the numbers don't correspond at all.
i'm also in an old victorian house so i know how much it costs to heat the high ceilings (i think we also heat the street because of poor insulation, but not much we can do about that in a rented property!) - i've resorted to having a small blanket which i wear around the house.... on the upside, when it was really hot last summer (both days!), the house was nice and cool
