Preventing cats from sh*tting in my garden?

It amazes me that people still keep cats, the most annoying unloyal pets around. You'll house them, feed them, stroke them, pay their vets bills, and get nothing back.
Can't accept that. I had a cat (up until we had him put down a few months ago) for the past 14 years and he was quite affectionate. Come to think of it, most of the time that he showed affection was around feeding time...the crafty git!
And before you ask, as far as i'm aware he never crapped on anyone elses garden.0 -
Will both of you deny that if you dropped dead in front of them after a few minutes the cat wouldn't try and see if you were edible?
and to redonred, how did you check it wasn't crapping ons omeoneelses garden?0 -
maybe they can debate in parliment to start a cat hunting sport!
Seems like they have not much else more important to do.0 -
until I catch the one sh!tting on my lawn you're damn right!!0

Orange peel around the garden works wonders, cats hate the smell! When I used to have a cat of my own if I ate oranges, his eyes would screw up and he'd rush out of the room!
Try it, it does work I promise!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Anyone want an incontinent cat?
What am I going to do about my elderly cat, who has suddenly forgotten how to use her litter tray, and we are now getting one too many very smelly "accidents" for my liking!!
Think she's becoming a bit senile.0 -

Our cat started doing exactly the same thing for the last year of its life. The last day of its life I found it in convulsions and peeing all over the place. The vet said he could do a lot of lengthy and expensive tests or we could have him put down, so we chose the latter and put my wallet out of its misery.0 -
Just regarding the original question, we have a house cat, and other cats still use our front garden as a toilet. I bought a tub of Scat-away (Ithink that's what they're called) granules from Asda (you could get them in garden centres I guess). I think they're soaked in Lion dung, so any cats that come along think they've got a really BIG rival!
It seems to have done the trick, and this is about 6 weeks on.0 -
WHITE VINEGAR!!! does the trick, but im not sure whether it will kill your plants, it is apparently stops any type of animal going back to the same spot to do its business!!! alternatively, get a water pistol!! lolA shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.

Our neighbour's cat used to do it in our garden and bury it.
I hid it's shovel and now it can't do it.
