container Storage.

hope someone can help. Iam thinking about buying a 10ft shipping container for long term storage of household excess. I hav narrowed it down to two companies. 1st containers, of rainham essex and containercontainer of county Durham. I have done a web search to check for customer reviews, with no luck. Has anyone had experience of these companies or is there any other way to check them out ? I can store the container at work so no probs there, and will be fitting a de-humidifier and lights to it. Another bonus is that i will be able to re-sell it to the landlord when i have finished with it, so it appears to me to be the cheapest storage option? Any other ideas welcomed though!

I dealt with LCS Containers in Rainham Essex a while ago (not sure if they are now 1st Containers), and had no problems at all.

Prices of containers have dropped (scrap value of steel down) I bought an oldish one last year and paid £600. My neighbour had one that he wanted £1k for very good condition. Needless to say he sold it recenty for £500.

So just don't pay too much. Keep an eye on EBay and/or any of the companies that auction liquidated companies assets.
  • many thanks for the replies, will see how hard i can bargain to get the price down!
