Yes.

Many Councils have been doing this.

The properties would obviously need to be in the right location (not too far north) and have roofs facing the right direction (south) and enough roof space to get a decent return.

if you hasd even 10 propertys which were facing the right way, you would make a healthy income from it, image 10 4kw systems that will give you 16k a year tax free !!! minimum

The only problem being what happens if your tennants say take of with your kit or damage them.
