Thanks, but I don't really think I contribute enough any more to justify having a new diary. I'm not online as much as I used to be and although cannot see myself severing ties with MSE, I need to ensure that I get the balance right IYKWIM.Amazing Hypno, really pleased for you. Love always lady X
Thank you, Souk. Never underestimate what a great help you have been to me over the last few months xxx
So.....as those on fb will have seen, I have bought myself a bike. We have the cycle to work scheme which means I got it from my gross salary rather than my take home pay....meaning a very good saving as a result. I cycled home on Friday, did about 8 miles yesterday morning around the lanes, and cycled to work this morning (its about 5.5 miles).....so hopefully it will soon have paid for itself, and I will also keep my fitness up.
My thighs are certainly aware of the new purchase
Hope everyone is ok - have a good week y'all xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

haha, SF - I know what you mean, and as I pulled my waterproofs on this morning to head out in the rain, I really did wonder about my sanity!
BUT, we live in a beautiful part of the country, and I love to get outside in it.....but don't make enough effort to, unless I am running. This will hopefully do the same for me, but of course I can go further in the same timeframe so see more of the area. OH does some more serious distances, so over time I hope to be able to join him on some of his jollies on a Sunday.
Bus fares keep going up, so the cost of getting to work is ever higher. Even if I just cycle in for a couple of days each week, or during the summer (!!!) months, that will have an impact on my daily spends, which can't hurt.
And of course, anything that helps my backside and thighs be a little less wobbly has got to be given serious respect :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
If my drive to my temporary job wasn't 50 minutes and over 30 miles, I might consider it! Petrol is such a cost at the moment.
And yes, the firming of thighs is a bonus to the saving money aspect!Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I love cycling, and as above if my journey to work was nearer I'd love to cycle in. Hopefully I can do so in my new life in September (however the climate may not be so keen!).
My dad is a super keen cyclist, one of the really gnarly fit ones that looks like he would snap in the wind but he pasted my XF round the country lanes near us - on a Brompton (folding bike for those who don't know!). LOVE it.
I can recommend keeping up with the Tour de France and Giro d'Italia etc - a thoroughly enjoyable watch if you have a penchant for men with nice thighs*sigh*

Well, it seems that it was all for a reason - eventually, the manager of said coffee shop plucks up courage to ask me out, sweeps me off my feet, and will be fully installed chez hypno very soon.
