They have no legal right to a refund.
I didnt say they did. Providing the fault is inherent, they have a legal right to a repair, replacement or a refund - ultimately retailers choice even though consumer can request one over another.
But even to get a partial refund, they would have to deal with the retailer. You were advising them to go to the manufacturer. They're definitely not going to get it off them. And while they may not be legally entitled to a refund right now, theres no harm in asking politely even if it is very very very unlikely. You dont ask, you dont get.You keep using that word.
