How To Degrease Melamine Kitchen Cabinets

Time of the year when I have to start cleaning for Xmas. Haven't found anything yet capable of making white melamine cabinet surfaces spotless again. Dust comes off fine but greasy spots are still visible. Used Cilit bang without results. Tried other brands as well. Should I resort to Domestos instead :) Any suggestions welcomed.

Flash for floors is brilliant, I use it on my cooker hood and it eats grease for lunch!

If you want something really powerful, what I used to do when I was mix 1tbs of bleach with 1tbs of cream cleaner on a saucer and use that.
Bear in mind it's very potent so have the windows open, and wear gloves.

One of the best degreasers is turps. It really gets through grease sure you have to wipe down after with a cleaner. I did my top of FF the other day it hard to get too and it had quite thick grease. I used flash hard work. Used turps came off first wipe then used flash after to clean up

Or Caustic Soda - that shifts grease.

Sugar soap is brilliant and it's dead cheap in places like Wilkinsons too :money:

Be careful mixing cleaners. Some are not designed to be mixed and can cause nasty reactions.
Here I go again on my own....

I find Sainsurys basic kitchen cleaner or Morrisons value (they appear to be the same thing, the bottle shape is the same, just the label is different) very good for taking grease off in the kitchen. Very cheap and the grease from frying on the cabinets comes straight off.

I'll also vouch for Fairy liquid, but only the "original" stuff, not the various favours they have now-a-days. It's actually one of the best substances to get grease or oil off any surface.

You really shouldn't need to use turps, white spirit or sugar soap. If anything they are going to damage to the surface, especially with prolonged use...
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
