Any info or experience with 123 Debt Solutions Ltd?

Hi everyone!
Thank you for making the forum and contributing with your personal situations and advice.
I have recently decided to seek out such advice and came across CCCS which looked quite reputable and trustworthy.
However, I didn't get very far as the requirements for using their Debt Remedy include being a UK citizen. I suppose citizenship is understood as nationality rather than residence?
I have lived and worked in the UK for over 8 years now and I still hold my original EU passport.
I have contacted a company called 123 Debt Solutions Ltd, and was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with them at all-good or bad, just to help me out as I realize the negotiated monthly payment goes to them and they administer that to your creditors.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I wouldn't use anyone not in Martin's list

I wasn't aware that CCCS couldn't take on a UK resident on the grounds of nationality - that sounds wrong. Have you phoned and asked them?

I'm pretty sure that they mean resident, not national. You should be fine with CCCS - the reason then only help people who are UK citizens is that things can get mightly complex for expats etc.

speak to them and DO NOT go with a fee charging company!!!! EVER!

    Hey. Thanks for the advice.
No, I haven't phoned them, I was under the impression they couldn't help me because of the citizenship issue, it was clearly stated in the outcome of the DR test.
I'll try that and the others in Martin's list.

Looks like it's just the debt remedy tool that you can't use.

As said, there is no reason why they shouldn't be able to help you if you ring as suggested there.

Having just gone to the CCCS page myself, it looks like the tool is not available to non UK citizens, but it seems to me that this question and the question about which country you reside in is designed to deter people in jurisdictions outside the UK.

If i were not a UK citizen, I would actually say that I was one in order to see where the advice took me. It is not illegal to tell this lie on the CCCS website for processing anonymous information.

  • At the moment and I have not had any problems with them, very polite when I call them and full of advice, I was dealing with Yes loans but found out I would have to pay a fee so we went with 123, also Yes Loans was trying to give us a loan which we found odd, if I do get any problems with 123 I will post my views on here :)

You did right to avoid Yes Loans.

Unfortunately, you will now probably be plagued with telephone calls from salespeople with foreign accents offering you a wide variety of debt remedies, loans, accident compensations and such like.

If you do start getting these calls, do not speak to them, just put the phone down. Talking to them makes them ring you even more - vocally abusing them down the telephone gets them even more ambitious.
