The ring that's lost was a 14ct white gold, marquise cut diamond 0.15ct, quite a high setting. It was 2nd hand, from an old fashioned jewellers hence it was £250 - a price difficult to beat, i think.
You will find that price hard to beat, because of the increase in gold and diamond prices.
Your insurance company should take that into account though.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
Don't rush - they might still find it for you.
I realised mine wasn't on my finger the other evening. It was a different situation to you as I KNEW it was in the house - I'd taken it out of my wallet to put away safely (having had to take it off my finger for work earlier in the day and putting it in my wallet for safekeeping). 2 hours of running round the house searching high and low and OH asking what I was up to later, I found it in the tumble drier.
Good luck x0 -
My wife lost her engagement ring once. It was a couple of horrid hours, that's for sure. Thankfully, by sheer luck, I heard a little "dink" inside the sofa when I tipped it up to look underneath (I'd stuck my hand down the side of the cushions already. Cutting a sizeable hole in the sofa and shaking it for a while, I was finally able to get the thing out. Bit of a polish and it was good as new.
That said, and my point, really....it's just a ring. If we'd not found it, we'd have gone and got another one and that would have, over time, grown to be equally as important. Contrary to popular belief, diamonds are temporary, but love lasts for ever0
