    About time too.

Don't forget that you can cash back for your old mobiles. I reckon you should raise about 15p for that old Nokia.

My husband took my old Nokia years ago when I switched to Blackberry, then over to iPhone. He still uses that old Nokia and loves it. I hate it, its embarrassing  He says 'all I want a phone to do is make phone calls' he hates smart phones and my iPhone scares him, honestly! He's hilarious :rotfl:The only tech thing he wanted was that plasma :p

In our house, I am the tech wh0re (as someone nicely put it lol) not him. He's a dinosaur for sure.

I feel guilty now in my part in morphing the topic of leaner times into a flimsy gadget show type discussion.

Re: leaner times - as money gets tighter more Greggs bakers appear on the high street. These help counterbalance the trend to leaner (healthier?) times :)

I know I shall get slated for this, but I must say, absolutely hilarious.

All those conversations over housing and technology and how people sholdn't buy tech if they want a house. The iphone brigade come out in force to condemn them.

And what do we have here? Total role reversals. If ever a thread proved this was all about condeming other posters, in whatever way possible, this thread is it.

You could pop over to a "can't afford housing" thread and see how terrible the iphone and tech is, from the very same people now taking the pee because I've stated, using a simply analogy, that spending loads of tech to "save a few pounds" here and there is a bit nonsensical.

    Brilliant!!

No idea what you are talking about there, Graham.

You're right of course. Plenty of revenue to be had from alcohol and DVDs, so George really needs people like you. You make up for people like me. :D

Your vision of Britian is probably where you come home at night and first thing you do is switch the TV on, couple of cans of special brew, and the friends you claim to have or probably made up.
A vision of Britain where someone can become obese like half the population and where some can even do this while not in employment and again sat in front of a TV.
A vision of Britain where you know the cost of everything and the value of nothing.

The probably with you mate is that when you sit in front of a good meal at night(probably processed in your case) and sleep in a warm bed you probably feel like it's you right, where as I feel thankful.

Trouble with our country now is that there are too many people like you, people who feel like we have a "God given right" to everything. I am not sure if you watched a programe the other night with Robert Peston about china amongst other things. They are a people who are lean, keen and still know what it is like to be hungry, when they have a family meal they feel blessed.

Yeah and if everyone was like you we'd all be sitting on our backsides all day and nothing would ever get done....
  • I laughed at that quote too! Whilst I will spend 2k on an Apple laptop, I bargain buy my kettles. In fact, my old kettle died 2 weeks ago (I bought it in Homebase for 5 pounds :p but it did last 2 years!)

I bought my new kettle from Lidl for 19 pounds, its a Tefal :D

Graham has a tendency to make stuff up and then he gets on his high horse about it and starts having a huge rant. It's his pattern.
  • That picture of the shed just did it for me now. I've lost it, fits of giggles :rotfl:
