My girlfriend wants to update her dads pc, Ive got a budget of £200. He got a new gfx card the other month, a GeForce 6600 GT but his motherboard is only AGP 4X! So I was thinking about getting him a new motherboard and CPU... but im not sure what one to get
I would like to get one which would take his old ram, so ive got more to spend on motherboard and CPU! Any suggestions on what to get? I would would like one where we can get him maybe more ram or a new CPU come xmas lol He only uses it for playing games, mainly Battlefield 2 and Guild Wars.

You could look at either of these two processors:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ HERE for £86.90 or
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ HERE for £124.32
Add a Socket 939 motherboad such as one of these
Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe HERE for £102.27 or
Foxconn SKT939 Nforce4-SLI HERE for £44.95
This is assuming that the gfx card you have is a PCI-Express one?
Also note, that you will need to re-install windows and check that your other components such as sound card, hard drive, etc are compatible with the motherboard.
Hope that helps

Its an AGP 8x, but on a AGP 4x slot...0

I can reccomend this one.
Asrock 775 Dual-VSTA
Its a good CPU to have, as it will take anything from the Pentium 4, right up to the latest Intels. It takes DDR and DDR2 memory, and you can even use the old AGP graphics card. Im not sure you could get a more versatile board! A friend has one, and loves it. You can also get it cheaper than the example I chose, the lowest Ive seen is about £40."I'm not even supposed to be here today."0
