This happens a lot. I buy something and when I take it to the same shop but in a diffrent area they say stock balance etc...
The easiest way is to goto the far store.
the other way is to goto the local store and ask nicely and they may give you them after phoning the other store. However I donot think they will swap as ASDA seem to be above the law. So may have to sue them and claim via the court for the extra fuel and time wasted.0 -

Really? I've never had any trouble with them either via my local store or their customer service departmant. Even when I didnt have a receipt for a chicken that went off before the use by date, I still got a full refund! You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Surely the company itself has the duty to satisfy consumer protection legislation, not the individual branch. Therefore the actual store location is irrelevant. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0

GO into your local store, armed with the telephone number and name of the person to deal with at the far store, also the times they will be working there and discuss it with them and get them to arrange for a replacement to you that will then be sent from the far store.
The harder you press the issue the more chance they will fold, all the managers give in when a customer complains.
Mentioning that you will be contacting asda house will also help, they do not like asda house to know when they are not giving good customer service.0 -

Exactly my thoughts - this is an 'item not as described' issue, therefore take it to your nearest store and ask for a replacement.0 -
I bought a couple of DVD's from Asda the other day and paid through the self service checkout. They needed authorisation and the assistant came over and said she'd need to go get the disk ( for the one that wasn't cellophane wrapped).
All was fine til I came to put the DVD on last night, and the box was empty ( again it wasn't wrapped in cellophane) I phoned the store to explain and they were lovely, apologised and said unfortunately this does happen sometimes. All I have to do is pop back in with the receipt and they'll sort it out. Great, except this store isn't my local store, it's a 30 mile round trip. I asked if I could take it to my local store but because the DVD's won't balance I have to take it back to the original store.
I kindly asked if they would 'gift card' the petrol expense, as I would have to make a specific trip, and they said no they wouldn't as they say I can go back next time I'm in the area, therefore not incurring any extra expense. Now, I don't intend on going back there this side of Christmas, and the film I bought was the Polar Express, specifically for the kids to watch over the christmas period. Am I right in pushing for a contribution/ refund for the petrol, or should I just accept human error and make the 30 mile round trip at my expense?
worry not the film is on tv during christmas0
