BT being stupid

Funnily enough, my mother's going through problems with BT at the minute.

Her contract ended at the end of September, and the new supplier took over effective as of mid-October.

She's just received a bill covering November and December - even though she received a 'Sorry you're leaving us' letter in October.

In a previous telephone conversation a few days ago, she's been told that the early termination fee had been 'waived'.

However, that shouldn't even factor into the equation - since she's received no written notification that she'd get an ETF (the contract ended before the new supplier took over anyway).

The landline number has been changed by the new supplier, and the new supplier's phone/TV/broadband package is fully effective - but BT are trying to claim that the line transfer wasn't effective.

Anyone come across this problem before?
