Balance transfer to help out partner

in Credit cards
Hi
My partner has run up approx £4000 debt and although his credit rating is good he has been rejected for 2 loans and 2 credit cards. He was told this was because he applied in quick succession and so this looked desperate to lenders.
Anyway, my question is, would I
Be able to transfer the money from his credit cards onto a credit card of mine to help him out? And would he be able to set up a direct debit from his current account to pay off the debt - even though the credit card would be in my name?
And is it possible to do a balance transfer from credit cards in his name to one in mine?
Please help
Thanks

BUT
The debt would become your responsibility. General experience by others shows that it is best to do this online rather than by phone and don't volunteer the information that another person is involved. Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

Yes this is fine, I have done this several times between my wife, and I to do our yearly balance transfers, and it has helped the wifes non existent credit rating.0

Do really consider this point. If the relationship broke down and they stopped the payments, you could be stuck with it.
Not meaning to offend - I say this without knowing you or your partner.0
