...all the other applicants e mail addresses!
I applied for a job by e mail and received an e mail today acknowledging receipt of the application, but they didn't do it BCC and the e mail includes all of the other applicants e mail addresses, which I think is very poor.
BUT some of the other applicants have used their current workplace e mail addresses to apply for the job, obviously it isn't an internal position, which is a bit daft.

Yes, but I kind of expected the HR dept to e mail to request deletion of the other applicants from my records.0

Perhaps they have not realised? It could earn you brownie points if you let them know, equally it could get annoy them - up to you what you wish to do.0

I'm not sure who is more stupid. The HR person that can't work out the difference between a CC and BCC field or the idiots that apply for new jobs using their work email?0

I'm not bothered if the others e mail me, I just won't engage in any kind of e mail correspondence and will stay silent. I just hope that their internal policies won't mean that the position has to be re-advertised and that the interviews are delayed.0 -
there are a lot of people who have never heard of BCC.....staggering in fact sometimes!0

The person sending it probably just closed their eyes when pressing 'send'.
OP - I'm not sure what you are wanting us to say.
OOh - norty people.

OOh - is there anyone on there that you can blackmail? If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
You should use it to your advantage! Set up a fake email account that has something to do with the company, then send out BCC emails to everyone saying that the offer is withdrawn or that they have decided to reaarange the interview for half an hour later than already stated. This would mean that all people who get an interview turn up late, except for you. Use your imagination.0

Or, if you don't get the job and really want to make some mischeif,, email everyone else to say they have been successful and to turn up at 9am on x date. Would love to be a fly on the wall when 20 people turn up for the same job, that would really give them some explaining to do.
PS before anyone starts telling me off, i'm not being serious. I expect most MSErs to understand that without the need for explanation but there's always the odd one who doesn't get it.0 -
Huge case of breaking Data Protection law. If you don't get the job then report them to the Information Commissioners Office.Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0
