Selling Via Amazon

Hello
Is anybody aware of what I can do to sort a problem.
I have offered an item for sale with Amazon on Monday and within a few hours it sold, but I was told not to send the item as they had to verify the payment details.
At that point, the item was removed for sale from Amazon.
4 days later, I have had two further emails from Amazon saying the same thing while the item is not being offered for sale.
After various emails with Amazon support, it seems, I have to give the potential buyer 12 days to to sort the problem and it that time my item is not being offered for sale.
Having looked on the site, I cannot see a way to withdraw the item and sell it somewhere else, this seems stupid beyond belief as I have no options, and I paying Amazon to sell my item, and paying a large fee for the privilege.
The reasons may be genuine, but I am sure the potential buyer is aware of the problem, with emails etc, and if they no longer want the item and cannot be bothered to inform Amazon, I am stuck and cannot sell the item.
I can say now though, I will never use Amazon again for selling, and will even think twice about buying as well as I cannot see how they can work this way.
Just wondered if anybody had an similar experience.

Is this the 'pending' scenario? If so then it is quite common and happens to all sellers. The really irritating thing is that if it does go through to a successful sale sellers are then penalised for not shipping withint the 2 days required.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hi Soolin
Yes it is marked as pending, and is really annoying.
I have since spoken to Amazon again and they have told me I can sell the item elsewhere, and then if this sale does come through just cancel it.
I cannot believe the system though, as I have pointed out to Amazon, the rules seem to favour my potential buyer, and not me who is paying Amazon.
I suppose you live and learn.
