Help broken lcd tv screen

Hi,
We have a major problem my son has just broken the screen of out lcd television.
I was wondering if replacement screens can be brought? The TV is about 5 years old now but right on top of christmas there is no way we can get a new one.
any help would be good

possibly, but by time you have bought a new screen and had it replaced. May be cheaper to buy new TVMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0

really? are screens that dear. and do you think a TV that old will still be able to be replaced?
I'm so gutted as we stopped our accidental damage insurance cover 2 months ago :mad:have now given up smoking since feb 13th 2014 loving the money I'm saving0 -
Screen is the largest item of the TV, so stands to reason it may also be the most expensive part.
Just found this site, 26" screen is £70, basic 26" from Argos is £190. So would say screen is roughly 1/3 of the total cost of the TV (could be wrong, as no tv engineer)

Could try to see if any friends or family, have a spare TV for Christmas.
Where i live, there is a Facebook page, For sale swap or giveaway In and around (placename), sometimes a lot of TV are those sort of page, normally the CRT big heavy tube TV. Worth a goMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -

no it don't now i when i renewed it had gone up a lot so i dropped accidental cover to make it more affordable,did think about renewing it and waiting a month or so then claiming
but thought better of it and not sure how long picture will last.
we can still see it but have lines going up one side

are you sure your insurance doesn't cover it, most contents insurance cover accidental damage to home entertainment equipment as standard, dig out the policy and check the small print.
Remember to think about any excess you may lose, and maybe an increase in premiums if you do make a claim.0 -

Many policies automatically include Accidental Damage Cover for free on standard cover policies for audio / visual cover. Have a read of your policy0
