possibly, but by time you have bought a new screen and had it replaced. May be cheaper to buy new TV

Screen is the largest item of the TV, so stands to reason it may also be the most expensive part.

Just found this site, 26" screen is £70, basic 26" from Argos is £190. So would say screen is roughly 1/3 of the total cost of the TV (could be wrong, as no tv engineer)

Could try to see if any friends or family, have a spare TV for Christmas.

Where i live, there is a Facebook page, For sale swap or giveaway In and around (placename), sometimes a lot of TV are those sort of page, normally the CRT big heavy tube TV. Worth a go

  • Hi,

are you sure your insurance doesn't cover it, most contents insurance cover accidental damage to home entertainment equipment as standard, dig out the policy and check the small print.

Remember to think about any excess you may lose, and maybe an increase in premiums if you do make a claim.

Many policies automatically include Accidental Damage Cover for free on standard cover policies for audio / visual cover. Have a read of your policy
