Car Insurance AARRGGHH!

Did a quote 2 weeks back on 'compare the market' as the OH want the Meerkat toy quoted £233 an excellent quote I thought & the quote was emailed to me with it's reference number. So I thought I 'll wait till the end of the month when I get paid to get it as it's not due till the 11th December. Went back on & it's jumped up £25 for the same insurance even when I put in my unique reference code! How does that work?

It's cheaper with Quidco but the OH reckons the meerkat toy will be an investment for years to come! Looks like I'm stuck any advice?!:o

  • Need to look at CTM's T&Cs, if you go direct to an insurer or broker for a quote they guarantee if for a period, normally circa 30 days, but as aggregators push for buying on price and impulse purchases etc many do not guarantee the prices other than for that time you run the quote.

As to it being an "investment", I personally wouldnt think they were going to be, especially the one for car. Even if you look at the original Natwest pigs that were made by a big name (Wade) the most common one is only £10-20 now, 25 years later. Likewise much of the branded freebies I've picked up over the years from previous clients/ jobs, many of which were small circulations are all virtually worthless.
