AEG Double Oven

Hi hope someone can help!
We moved to new house a few months ago and we've got an AEG Double Oven already in but it won't heat up very well, the grill works fine. I don't want to spend a fortune having it repaired as we are hoping to have the whole kitchen replaced in the future.
Unfortunately the make of the oven is not visible. Sorry the make is but not the model number.
Any suggestions on why it's not heating up sufficiently and whether it's going to be expensive to fix?

I assume that you mean that the model name is not visible, as you say it is an AEG?
In my opinion having it repaired would be a waste of money. AEG is not the quality it used to be - we have just had to replace one that was about 5 years old, and we had had it repaired twice   Could you not buy a new oven and incorporate it in your new kitchen eventually? Or is it that you won't want the type of housing that the current one uses?0 -
A new element is not costly.
It's more likely to be the thermostat that is cutting off too early - another cheap device that is simple to fit. These are usually found behind the backplate inside the oven.
Fitting it is pretty simple and shouldn't take that long.
There seems to be a huge mystery surrounding cookers. They are a metal box with elements that heat up when current is passed through them, controlled by a relatively simple on off switch and a thermostatic cut out. Thats All!!
It could be the control switch that is at fault so get another and fit it. As long as you replace the connectors like for like, it cant go wrong."Unhappiness is not knowing what we want, and killing ourselves to get it."Post Count: 4,111 Thanked 3,111 Times in 1,111 Posts (Actual figures as they once were))Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.0 -
Thanks both, I shall pass this info onto hubby and pretend that I have laboured long and hard over the internet to source it!
Seriously though, we did think of replacing it but we could really do without the expense at the moment.0
