Red debt collection letter

Hi newbie here hope this is the right place to post...
I have received 2 letter from red debt collection, the first I ignored the 2nd states that unless I contact them within 7 days they will obtain a copy of my credit file and review it so that they can gain better understanding of my finances???

Based on their findings they could then instruct hamptons legal, their legal division, to use court system to recover money owed

This is an old debt that I am sure is 6+ years old from 02

Is is in my maiden name although it states Mr (school boy error)

Any advice on what letters I should send?

Do NOT sign it and send it recorded delivery so they can't claim to have not received it.

See what they come back with. If they come back asking you to send them further details, don't. You are under no obligation to do so.

1] More info required. Are you sure the debt is yours, when did you last pay?
2] I don't know, but I suspect that their proposed use of the credit referencing data is actually not permitted without your permission.

Yea I recently moved and changed my address on it... Doh!

Yea sure the debt was mine they messed up taking payment and wouldn't re schedule and I'm pretty sure last payment would have been over 6years ago...

So should I ignore? Or send letter confused now?

Hi today I received a letter from hamptons legal threatening bayliffs court and ccj action...
What should my next step be? Don't want a visitor on my doorstep help!!!!

I am 95% sure that it is 6 yrs + as I have been married for 4 years !
Do I send the letter to both red and Hamptons?

The are the same company, using different letter heads, so send to either.

Hi there I didn't get round to sending any letters over the festive period...
I now have a letter
Avoiding legal action against you
We can now apply for a ccj against you!
Etc.....
They are now offering that I can pay 50% of original bill at £40 a month?
Are they still fishing?
Should I respond with a letter?
