Barclaycard advice required please

Good afternoon all,

I will try and make this as brief as possible.
Following a successfiul claim against MBNA (as a consequence of the advice on this fantastic site) I have decided to try my luck with Barclaycard. As my card has not been used in 2 years and has no balance, I called them on the pretext of getting a new card and a possible balance transfer (naughty i know)to get my account number which I had forgotten in my dotage.
During the call i asked if i had PPI on the account and they confirmed I did. That was 3 weeks ago. I called again today on an unrelated matter and asked again if my account had PPI.
This time they said I did not have PPI on the account but did have AXA insurance. When I challenged him that this differed from what i had been told previously and asked for an explanation of the AXA situation he hung up on me.
My question is therefore do I still go ahead with he claim or has the AXA statement changed things?
Many thanks in adavance.

    Hi there

    You have them stumped there.

It maybe a good idea on your case to request a Subject Access Request (SAR) they MUST comply to this and by 40 calendar days, you enclose the one off payment of £10 cheque or postal order.

There is a SAR letter template below, if you had a few accounts with the same business they should send you all details of all accounts, but you could enclose all account numbers you have just in case on the letter as well.

Hope this helps and any problems, you could contact the Information Commissioners Office (ICO).
