Remember, you are far from being alone!
For obvious reasons, more people don't get the job than do get the job. Most MSErs have been in a similar if not quite the same position. Time will tell if the incomer is in fact who they were looking for.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
Nothingspecial, sorry to hear that and I feel for you, I was in your position years back.
Here's a suggestion: think about what you want from the company, e.g. training, in a broader perspective. I would suggest you to look opportunities outside your organisation as well, and if you think that there's a skill missing, e.g. Excel skills, try to learn them from your current employer by partnering with a colleague, or do some work for other department on your own time. Sooner or later you will get the skills, just don't limit yourself to the internal opportunities only.
When I was in your position before, I looked around and noticed that my project management skills were lacking. So I worked closely with a Project Manager, and requested her to give me some work that I could do at my own time, so that I could learn and gain more experience. I learnt a lot and managed to find a job externally. If I had waited at the same organisation, I would still be earning 18k, there was no job opening at all since then. Now I am earning 40k. Just keep your chin up, look around, gain more skills and experience, and I'm sure you'll move forward and upwards x.0 -
Is the software something you can easily get training for because it is off the shelf - i.e. Excel, or something more proprietary?
If it is the former, then accept you need to invest in your development, and you can easily overcome it. If the latter, then as per the previous posts, see what you can arrange in terms of training and development from your company and take it from there.0
